The Toronto Association of Police and Private Security, or TAPPS, is an official public-private partnership 〔http://torontopolice.on.ca/partnerships.php〕 of the Toronto Police Service (TPS), operating as a non-profit organization in the City of Toronto. The purpose of the association is to provide active support to municipal, provincial, and federal law enforcement officers, and members of the safety and security community in order to establish for their clients and citizens a high quality of life and safety in the Toronto Area. TAPPS facilitates education, training, information, and intelligence sharing in partnership with the Toronto Police Service to mobilize public and private sector entities to keep the City of Toronto safe and secure. Association Objectives: # Education and Training # Information and Intelligence Sharing # Mobilization TAPPS is a membership based association, whereby membership dues are collected and used towards the operation of the association to fund training seminars and the technology platform used by members to communicate, both of which are for the exclusive attendance and usage of members only.
